Sensis acquires Life Events Media Pty Ltd
February 03, 2011
Sensis announced today the acquisition of Life Events Media Pty Ltd (LEM), one of Australia’s largest providers of request for quote services.
LEM operates the online business ‘Quotify’, which has the exclusive licence to Quotify Technology Inc’s (QTi) merchant-matching technology in Australia.
Since September 2006, Quotify has been helping consumers make purchase decisions by connecting them with pre-qualified service providers.
Consumers log on to www.quotify.com.au, or one of the 40 category specific sites in its network, and complete the selection criteria which helps determine the type of service required.
Information is processed and immediately sent to the service providers via telephone, email or SMS. The consumer is then contacted and provided up to three separate quotes for the requested service.
Quotify provides post engagement advice including a feedback mechanism and a log-in section so consumers see a suppliers rating before they choose to use them.
The Quotify network of websites currently receives large volumes of traffic and has, to date, sent more than 320,000 leads to businesses across Australia. Hundreds of thousands of consumers have used Quotify to find service providers in more than 20 categories ranging from Pest Control to Financial Planning, with plans to launch into more categories this coming year.
The combination of the LEM business and QTi technology supports Sensis’ commitment to its advertising customers by providing new ways to broaden advertising offerings via one of the most sophisticated and true performance marketing solutions available in Australia.
Mr Robert Rath, Sensis Digital General Manager commented: “Sensis continues to look at new ways to broaden our offerings to our customers as we respond to the emerging digital needs of the SME market. This acquisition of Quotify supports the focus of our team which includes making it easy for small businesses to find more customers online and capitalise on opportunities in the digital world.
“Today, with the explosion of technology and advertising channels and the popularity of digital devices, Yellow Pages offers small businesses a growing range of marketing solutions across print, online, voice and mobile services, search engines and online mapping sites, new devices such as the iPhone, iPad, Android devices and Telstra’s T-Hub, and satellite navigation devices, to help deliver more customers through their doors,” Mr Rath said.
Mr Sean Westwood, LEM Chief Executive Officer welcomed the integration of LEM and the Quotify business into the Yellow Pages digital network.
“This is an exciting new partnership that brings together the resources of Australia’s largest advertising network and one of Australia’s largest providers of request for quote services.”
“It has the potential to deliver exceptional service, providing mutual benefits to thousands of Australian consumers and advertisers,” said Mr Westwood.
